Cards for Insight: Purpose

Networked thought, networked situational awareness* as a service.

Cards for Insight: Value proposition
As easy to use as a card-game,
as powerful as a social machine.

Card: Text
In a network, any sufficiently generative text,
eg considered, considerate comments conducive
to conviviality, is indistinguishable from social
social media and social web affordances.

Card: Text (tl; dr)
Text is social web affordance.

… pick two cards and add your thoughts between …

Card: Text
Personal ken opinion.
turned shared thought.

… pick two cards and add your thoughts between …

Card: Text-boxes in proprietary platforms
A text in a text-box, conditioned by
proprietary platform programming,
might be a spell, someone binding you.

We need different social machines.

Cards for Insight: Value proposition
As easy to use as a card-game,
as powerful as a social machine.

Networked thought, networked situational awareness* as a service.

  • will turned flow
  • intelligence turned ability
  • behavior turned agency (card sessions)
  • attention turned * situational awareness

Cards for Insight: Human and Human
In a network, we play^n to win^n: conversations that mind, cultivate and matter.

— Online conversations? How?
— Add considered, considered comments to other people’s comments, conducive to conviviality.
— Adding comments in text-boxes?
— Yes.*

Card: Text-box
The empty text-box is an insufficient
affordance for shared understanding.
Your personal ken can be seen as a
homegrown flavor of markdown,
yet presented in the text box to
others as plain text.

… pick two cards and add your thoughts between …

Card: Response
When others respond, they do so
from inside their own, negotiated
self-interest, yet it looks like plain text.

Cards for Insight: Human and Machine
Also, in most proprietary platforms, the empty text-box is not empty at all. Nine tenths of a tweet is data, hidden from the ordinary user.
“User” is a frame that subtly robs you of agency. Don’t buy that frame. Hack proprietary platforms, and/or build and homestead different ones. Again: we need different social machines, in order to coordinate human effort, building on networked thought.

Cards for Insight: A different social machine

Cards for Insight: Attention
Proprietary platforms are to structure what weaponized information is to process. Structures and processes that obfuscate and obstruct networked thought.

Cards for Insight: Intelligence turned Ability
In social media and networks, the abundance of information and the partially hidden layers of data, creates not only a scarcity of attention, it also keeps most of us from addressing the core challenge: context, contextual intelligence in general and networked thought in service to finding shared understanding and common ground, guided by intelligence turned ability, in particular.

Cards for Insight: You got played
Without shared context, shared understanding will remain difficult.

Cards for Insight: Social Social Media
In a network, there’s a place beyond proprietary algorithms and weaponized information. Let’s meet there.

Cards for Insight: Shared understanding
Cards are shared understanding affordances. They catalyze conversational intelligence and add contextual intelligence to and/or around the text-boxes, enabling different human-human conversations and human-machine interaction. Ongoing prototyping here.

— Great! How to play?
— Here you go:

Card: Question
A question is mind rediscovering
the generative nature of relating
with reality and transforming it
into possibility.

… pick two cards and add your thoughts between …

Card: Insight
A catalytic, clear, meaningful, generative,
comprehensive, perspective-shifting and
profound perception into behavior, agency,
understanding and shared understanding.

… pick two cards and add your thoughts between …

Card: Understanding
What if understanding is our
ability to hold space for the
possibility of knowledge, as
it emerges, unfolds, directs
and discloses its relevance
to unexplored aspects of
things known?

Cards for Insight: How to play
Pick two cards and add your thoughts between.

  1. Hold space for questions, conversations and insights.
  2. Add your thoughts and comments to text-boxes related to questions, cards, insights and moves.
  3. Pick two cards, add your thoughts between.
  4. Map questions, cards and moves to arcs, forming meaning-making paths.
  5. Build shared understanding.
  6. Earn tokens, relevant for where you are participating, and around what you are building.
  7. Combine questions, cards, insights, moves and understanding, at card session scope, social social media reach, contextually intelligent distribution and social machine scale.

Cards for Insight: Patterns, ontologies and social machines
All cards and decks are fitted with an underlying large finite set pattern, pattern language. A social machine architecture with a modular process ontology, which enables shared understanding at scale.

Cards for Insight: Scope, reach, distribution and scale

— Large finite set?
— Yes. There’s more than 100k two-card combinations you can pick.
— So, two-card combo’s as NFT’s?
— That’s but one of the many options. (for another post)
