The Ask
An investment enabling two years of developing a platform for shared understanding at scale, building from an existing community, until cards, formats and services are designed and field-tested, with affordances evolving with the underlying training of heuristics and algorithms. Please share this with others who’d like to help make this happen.

Formulate a question, pick two cards and add your thoughts in between.

Formulate a question, pick two cards and add your thoughts in between.

Why?
Here’s why. The cards help you

There’s five hundred cards providing 100k two-card combinations. Questions, cards and a large finite set of patterns, helping you to take thought at scale.

How?
How to play, how to combine questions, cards and insights, solving for understanding at scale.

  • formulate a generative center, driving question
  • pick cards, associate and annotate
  • gain insight, build understanding
Cards for Insight: Solving for insights and understanding at scale.

The Pain
Reach beyond personal ken grasp.

The Claim
One hundred thousand two-card combinations, drawn from a deck of
around five hundred. A large finite set with underlying pattern language, epistemology of play and modular process ontology, providing an infrastructure for addressing and augmenting thought at scale, enabling participants to gather around questions and turn insights into shared understanding and paths to preferable outcomes.

The Solution: Cards
Cards are tools for taking thought. Cards are play, insight and shared understanding affordances. They help you connect dots between your questions, insights and next steps. Cards, card decks and card sessions are tools to help you gain insight and achieve your goals. Cards are to shared understanding at scale, what post-it notes are to shared understanding.

The Prototyping: Conversations that Mind, Cultivate and Matter
A significant part of the Cards for Insight prototyping and field-testing is taking place in an online community, going for seven years, with more than two thousand members.

Conversations that Mind and Matter, 2015–2022, an online community with 2200 members.

In addition to Cards for Insight, there’s a prototype searchable knowledge repository, one of the results of the ongoing field-testing of questions, cards, conversations, insights and patterns of play related to both knowledge flows and knowledge mapping, evolving with the community conversations.
